Muzzy Boasts 25 Years of Never-fail Broadheads

In 1984, after retiring from a successful restaurant business, 65-year-old John Musacchia, Sr. decided it was time to pursue a dream that evolved after a particularly intense African bow hunt for Cape buffalo in the 1970s. John was shooting the best broadheads available, yet, after repeated hits with penetration problems, the buffalo remained on his feet. Full of fury, the buffalo charged. The Muzzy 200 Club is pleased to announce that two new members have been inducted into the Muzzy 200 Club.

Jay Maxwell

Certified Member of the Muzzy 200 Club

Jay MaxwellJay Maxwell of Bethlehem, Georgia became the 13th certified member of the Muzzy 200 Club on November 20th, 2007 when he harvested the new Georgia State Archery Record Whitetail Buck in North Fulton County.

The buck’s official Pope & Young score is 234 7/8” gross, and 213 4/8” net. It has 18 scoreable points, two drop tines, and is a mainframe 9-point.

Jay is 28 years old, has been bowhunting since he was 12 years old. He harvested the buck at 12:15 PM as he stalked the buck as it was tending a doe. Jay’s equipment included a Muzzy 100 grain, three-blade broadhead, Easton Axis arrows, and a Hoyt Tricon bow.

The Jay Maxwell Buck was harvested on 3 acres of private property about 25 miles north of the city of Atlanta.

Donnie Herod

Certified Member of the Muzzy 200 Club

Donnie HerodDonnie Herod of Rockwall, Texas became the 14th certified member of the Muzzy 200 Club on November 24th, 2007 as he fought rain, wind, and cold temperatures to harvest his fifth buck with a bow.

The buck’s official Pope & Young score is 214 1/8” gross, and 201 1/8” net. The rack has 28 scoreable points, including drop-tines.

Donnie is a Fabrication Technician and a longtime bowhunter. His equipment of choice is a Muzzy 100 grain, three-blade broadhead, and a Mathews bow.

The Donnie Herod Buck was harvested on private property in Grayson County, Texas.
