System Layout

The layout below represents a generic indoor layout of the BowHunter Challenge competition system. Outdoor layouts are basically the same. However, in outdoor applications the area directly behind the system must be clear of people, buildings, walking paths, parking areas, etc. for a minimum of 400 yards. Every event will have set-up variations depending on the shape and design of the building or grounds.

System Layout

We have set-up and run the Bowhunter Challenge system in many different layouts to conform with the space availible. However, the system will not be operated without the safety zones and the warm-up lane. The warm-up area can be moved to the left side as needed. Also, the system can be set-up in a smaller space, but a smaller space will make the system less competitive for the shooters. A smaller space that is too small effects the built-in safety values and simply will not work. Too small of a room or area depends on the shape of the area.

System Layout

The 8-foot safety netting covering the back of the system is not used in outdoor applications. In outdoor applications, the system set-up area must be relatively flat. Trees, bushes and ground cover are okay, but some trimming may be required to obtain clear shots.

For all set-up applications, electrical power outlets must be located as close to the system control area as possible, and no more than 25 feet from the system control area. Electric power requirements include two 20-amp receptacles on separate breakers, and two 15 amp receptacles.

Note For Competitors - As stated above, this diagram is a generic layout. The system set-up that you compete on may resemble this diagram, but the target placements and distances may be very different from what you see here. Also, each time we set-up the system the target placements and distances will vary.
